Stake acquired in Simpel.nl
Parcom Capital is pleased to announce the acquisition of a substantial minority stake in Simpel.nl. The transaction is subject to customary merger approvals and is expected to close in Q3 2016. Simpel is an independent and fast growing provider of mobile communication services in the Netherlands, where it has a leading position in the budget, sim-only part of the market.
“In order to further accelerate the growth of Simpel and expand its market position, I have sought cooperation with Parcom Capital”, explains Jasper de Rooij, CEO and founder of Simpel. Over the past years and with the support of former shareholder De Hoge Dennen, Simpel has been able to further professionalize its organization.
These professional improvements have had a great influence on the current growth and prosperity of the company and the brand name Simpel. Jasper de Rooij: “We are now ready for the next phase in our development; in the growth strategy we have in mind, I find a private equity firm such as Parcom to be a very good fit”.
Piet-Hein de Jager, partner at Parcom Capital, is pleased with the investment in Simpel. De Jager: “We were impressed by the strength of the management team of Simpel and highly value the market position they have built. As a budget player, they have managed to integrate a high level of quality in their services. Their transparency to customers results in clear and attractive propositions for those customers, as evidenced by the success of Simpel over the years. We are delighted to be able to support Jasper and his team in the further growth of Simpel.”
Simpel was advised by ING M&A in this transaction. Parcom was advised by NIBC.
