Qizini sells Liessel activities

Liessel, 27 February 2013 – Qizini today announces that an agreement has been reached regarding the sale of its Liessel site. This facility produces fresh pizza, steam meals and sauces.

With this sale Qizini can further implement its core strategy. A key objective of the strategy is to focus on development, production and selling of freshly packed sandwiches, wraps, roles, salads and ready-to-heat products such as paninis and toasted sandwiches. Qizini is market leader in the Benelux with these products and sees further international growth potential for its products. Considering the differences in product categories Qizini is of the opinion that both activities will experience accelerated growth in an autonomous position.

CEO Peter van den Berg praises the contribution of the Qizini co-workers in Liessel, and he wishes both the employees and the management every success in the further expansion of the company. “The activities in Liessel have always made an important contribution to the success of Qizini. I am convinced that the company can achieve an even greater acceleration in this new situation.”

The shares of the Liessel site will be sold to a new established company, of which Wiebe Visser will be managing director and shareholder. Till the end of 2012 Wiebe has been managing director of Qizini. Wiebe Visser: “We see good opportunities to continue the company in Liessel on its own. As an independent company we will be able to serve our current and our new customers even better.”

Qizini is the Benelux market leader in freshly packed sandwiches, wraps, roles and ready-to-heat products such as panini and toasted sandwiches. Qizini has been formed from the merger of the former Greencore companies in The Netherlands and Johma Sandwiches. Qizini employs approximately 300 people. Qizini represents innovation and passion for good food. The products are fresh and homemade. Qizini develops innovative and successful convenience products, together with its customers in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France – leading players in retail, airline and foodservice.

Qizini is a portfolio company of Parcom Capital.
