Hobré Instruments acquires Hilase

Hobré Instruments BV today announced it has acquired Hobré Laser Technology kft (HLT) from Hilase kft. Hobré Laser Technology kft/Hilase was founded in 2004 as a spin off from the Department of Optics and Quantum Electronics of the University of Szeged, a leading university in the field of Photoacoustic technology. The innovative photoacoustic technology for process analysers was developed in partnership with the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL which has successfully been using this unique technology for quality control of its processes for many years.

Hobré started working with the company in 2009 and introduced the very robust and innovative photoacoustic technology in process analysers to the high demanding oil and gas industry for measuring on-line H2S, CO2 and H2O in gas and liquid streams. The acquisition of the company HLT will further strengthen and combine the unique expertise and technology of both companies. New developments and applications form the basis to further roll out process analyser system solutions to the industry.

Hobré Instruments, founded in 1978, is a leading company in the field of design, manufacturing, marketing and maintenance of complete turnkey process analysers, systems and sample system solutions and state-of-the-art equipment.

Dr. Zoltán Bozóki, CEO of Hobré Laser Technology, Hungary, comments that he is very pleased with this acquisition as it will further strengthen and grow the company by combining over 35 years of expertise. It will contribute to further development of the product range with higher performance and innovative features for introduction to the oil and gas industry.

Hobré is very pleased that HLT is now part of Hobré as it will further strengthen the product portfolio. Hobré Instruments’ own designed sample system solutions in combination with the product portfolio will satisfy the high demand from the market and grow the business further and strengthen Hobré’s market position.
