Acquisition of Sentijn BV by STAR Group

Moerdijk, the Netherlands, October 2018 – STAR Group acquires Sentijn Engineering BV as of 4 October 2018.

STAR Group is a market leader in technical professional services in the field of consultancy, staffing/secondment and recruitment & selection, with an annual turnover of approximately EUR 170m. Sentijn will continue to operate as a separate business unit of the STAR Group. Quality and service provision can be expanded and optimised further with the additional knowledge and expertise of the STAR Group. As the board is being retained, the collaboration with engineers and clients remains unchanged.

Diversification strategy

The acquisition represents the next step in STAR’s diversification strategy, which is aimed at offering a wide range of technical/specialist services and project support to various industrial markets. This strategic acquisition will enable the STAR Group to take on a more prominent position in the construction and infrastructure sector.

International growth and development

Sentijn was founded in 2012 and has experienced strong growth. The organization mainly focuses on HBO and WO engineers, within Infrastructure, Construction and Mechanical Engineering. Marijn Ligthart, Associate at Sentijn: “With the takeover by STAR, we can better serve our clients in a broad sense while maintaining the current level of abstraction.” Sentijn is characterised by a large degree of involvement in large (infrastructure) construction projects both within Engineering and Project management.
